From 7 to 29 March 2026, THE CAGE, an art installation consisting of over 500 handmade birdcages by Karlsruhe-based Iraqi artist Fahar Al-Salih, will be on display at the Evangelische Stadtkirche. The supporting programme also includes concerts with students from the Karlsruhe University of Music. Two students from Professor Pirmin Grehl's flute class have reason to celebrate their successes.Lina Gerstenhauer, a master's student in flute, won second prize worth €1,500 with the Gadina Quintet at the 1st Andreas Gepp and Anne Strube Chamber Music Competition. Together with Judith Quinker, oboe; Dylan Zöller, clarinet; Tabea Träger, horn; and Gabin Yeom, bassoon, the Gadina Quintet impressed the jury.Xiaoyue Shang, a student in the soloist examination programme for flute, won the… Weiterlesen

At the end of the 2025/26 winter semester, three Japanese students at the Karlsruhe University of Music received a one-time grant from the Dr. Ilse Völter Foundation Fund for their outstanding achievements.The presentation took place in front of the memorial plaque dedicated to Dr Ilse Völter, who was always particularly committed to promoting music, students and the Karlsruhe University of Music.

If that's not a reason to celebrate: In the last few days, the 500th video was published on the Zimmer205 YouTube channel of the composition class. The videos are from the years 2012 to 2026. This channel, named after the composition class's room in Gottesaue Palace, documents compositions by students in the composition classes of Prof. Markus Hechtle and Prof. Dr. h.c.
