Study trumpet - versatile, practical and professional
If you want to study the trumpet, the wind instruments degree programme offers a sound and versatile education. The degree programme is divided into three areas: pedagogical, solo and orchestral. In the first semesters, all students undergo a broad-based basic training together. In the further course of the programme, students can focus on individual specialisations - depending on their personal abilities and professional goals.
Practical training with ensemble work and solo playing
A central component of studying the trumpet is working in an ensemble. Students play in a variety of ensembles and styles - from classical brass ensembles to chamber music formations. At the same time, solo playing is intensively encouraged: Each semester, students have the opportunity to present themselves as soloists in a public concert evening.
Professional preparation for an orchestral career
The trumpet programme offers targeted preparation for students aiming for an orchestral career: orchestral positions are systematically taught and internal auditions are held regularly. A special offer is the subject ‘Orchestral playing in a historical context’, which focuses on baroque instruments such as the baroque trumpet, baroque trombone or transverse flute - ideal for anyone interested in historical performance practice.
