Xiayi Jiang was born into a musical family from Sichuan province in China. She received her first piano lessons at the age of five. Even as a child, she was honoured with prestigious awards in her home country, including first prize five times at the Nong-Hang Piano Competition. From 1998 to 2003, she studied at the Sichuan University of Music with Prof Hanguo Yang and Prof Dr Chengang Yang.
In 2004, she came to Germany to study at the Karlsruhe University of Music, where she was accepted into the piano and piano chamber music class of Prof. Dr Saule Tatubaeva. She completed her studies there with diplomas in instrumental pedagogy, artistic training and a master's degree and concert exam with honours. Since 2012, she has worked as a lecturer at the Karlsruhe University of Music in the supplementary/compulsory subject of piano and since 2016 as a wind accompanist.
Several engagements have also taken her to China, Europe and South America. She was a guest lecturer at the DAAD Project Summer in Brazil. She has also performed as a soloist with the Minas Genais Symphony Orchestra, the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra and the orchestras of the Karlsruhe and Stuttgart music academies. Her artistic personality and musical commitment were honoured in 2004 with the first prize of the Karlsruhe Music Forum, in 2005-2010 with the Landesbank Foundation and in 2010 with the Adler-BĂĽttner Foundation Music Promotion Prize. Numerous concerts have taken her throughout Germany, to Asia and to many European countries. In addition to her work as a soloist, Xiayi Jiang devotes herself intensively to piano chamber music. She has performed as a soloist at internationally renowned festivals and is a chamber music partner of well-known artists and ensembles. Xiayi Jiang has won prizes at numerous international competitions. She has been an honorary member of Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Oberrhein since 2019.
