Choral Conducting

The course of studies in choral conducting stands for a comprehensive artistic and methodical training as a choral conductor. The main focus of the main subject is on practical project work both inside and outside the university. This consists, for example, of regular cooperation with the Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester Mannheim, as well as the vocal ensemble Polyphonia, consisting of professional singers. The training is supplemented by lessons in score and piano score playing, voice training, analysis, aural training, music theory and music history.

Supplementary courses deepen bodywork and body language and impart basic knowledge in physiology of the voice and psychology of practice. Seminars on legal studies, self-management and music education facilitate the start of a career.
