Johannes Heuft, born in 1997, has been studying Music Journalism for Broadcasting and Multimedia at the Karlsruhe University of Music since 2018. After completing his Bachelor's degree in 2022, he will be in the 3rd semester of the Master's degree programme in Music Journalism. Heuft, who grew up in the municipality of Kottenheim (Mayen-Koblenz district), made his home community the subject of a media production, for which he has now been awarded the Hans-Hachmann Scholarship.

At the International Opera Awards 2023, the opera "Oryx and Crake" by Søren Nils Eichberg and librettist Hannah Dübgen was nominated in the category "World Premiere".
