We are delighted to welcome three new professors to our university for the 2026 summer term:

Lauma Skride has taken up the  Professor of Piano and Piano Chamber Music with immediate effect. The internationally acclaimed pianist captivates audiences with her sensitive artistry, brilliant technique and profound musical expression – qualities that distinguish her on the world’s most prestigious stages. She has appeared as a guest artist with renowned orchestras such as the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra. You can find out more about Lauma Skride here

Yoerae Kim is to become the new Professor of Violin. Following her soloist examination under Prof. Christian Ostertag, her path has now led her back to our university. She was Principal Violinist at the Staatstheater Kassel, and since 2021 has been Associate Principal Violinist of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Philharmonic Orchestra; she will now pass on her experience to our students. The third in the trio, Jone Kaliunaite-Fassbender, has accepted the appointment as Professor of Viola. Among other accolades, she is a prize-winner of the CIEM Geneva 1996 and gained experience as Principal Viola with the Essen Philharmonic Orchestra and at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Duisburg. As an educator, she has previously served as a professor at the Saar College of Music. You can find out more about Jone Kaliunaite-Fassbender here.

We extend a warm welcome to all three and wish them a great start at our college!
