Music Informatics students went on an excursion to Geneva to visit the European Organisation for Nuclear Research CERN. Prof. Markus Klute (KIT) and Michael Hoch (CERN) had invited the students, accompanied by Michele Samarotto (IMWI/University of Music), together with students from the Karlsruhe Academy of Arts, to take part in an exchange as part of Michael Hoch's ‘art@CMS’ programme at CERN. Masaya Kamei from Prof Momo Kodama's piano class has won fifth prize at the Concours Reine Elisabeth. The Concours Reine Elisabeth (Queen Elisabeth Competition) in Brussels is one of the most important international music competitions. Gerda Iguchi wins Audience Award at the first Art Song ChallengeOver 130 entries from 29 countries were submitted to the first Art Song Challenge, the partner festival of LIEDBasel, Leeds Songs, Schubertíada, Liedstadt and Heidelberger Frühling. After an intensive pre-selection process, there was a shortlist of five favourites.
