At the 2026 national ‘Jugend musiziert’ competition, three PreCollege students from Prof. Sontraud Speidel’s class won first prizes in the Piano Solo category: in age group 3 (born in 2012, 2013) Luise Bold and Ih-Ruhn Katharina Jung, and in age group 4 (born in 2010, 2011) Eren Parmakerli.

The French trumpeter Robin Paillet, who studied in Prof. Reinhold Friedrich’s trumpet class as an Erasmus student in 2023 and won first prize at the ARD Competition in 2025, has been appointed to a permanent post as principal trumpeter with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra (BRSO). He impressed the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra so much that he was awarded the Special Prize of the Friends of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. A series of three concert-talks, held every fortnight, will explore the theme of ‘the freedom and function of art’. Eren Parmakerli, a 15-year-old pre-college student in Prof. Sontraud Speidel’s piano class, has been awarded a special prize for his interpretation of Beethoven at the international Beethoven Bonnensis Competition. The competition was open to all instrumental groups, including voice, solo and ensemble, aged 13–19, with no distinction made between age groups. He will receive prize money and will perform at the winners’ concert in the Chamber Music Hall of the Beethoven-Haus Bonn on 20 June 2026.… Weiterlesen
