A series of three concert-talks, held every fortnight, will explore the theme of ‘the freedom and function of art’. The series has been conceived by three professors: Markus Hechtle (Composition), Thomas Seedorf (Musicology) and Christoph Seibert (Music Informatics). The discussions will involve students and staff from the HfM Karlsruhe, the State Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe, the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design, the Karlsruhe University of Education, KIT and the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music Berlin. The audience is encouraged to join in and express their views.

You can read about the successful opening event in the Badische Neueste Nachrichten:
"Instead of a culture war, what unfolds in the hall is a thoughtfully curated evening exploring the freedom, function and fragility of art … On this evening, something emerges that has become rare in public debates: people listen to one another for an extended period of time."
This is how Isabel Steppeler describes the evening at the sold-out Wolfgang Rihm Forum
