Pianist Susan Manoff studied at the Manhattan School of Music and the University of Oregon. She performs regularly at festivals and concert halls such as Wigmore Hall, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, Carnegie Hall in New York, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Oji Hall in Tokyo, the Vienna Konzerthaus and the Musikverein in Vienna. In the spring of 1827, Franz Schubert announced the first 12 songs of Winterreise to his friends as a "cycle of gruesome songs". His friends were quite taken aback by the sombre mood of these songs. But Schubert confessed: "I like these songs more than any others, and you will like them too". The performers are soprano Lea Lamparter and Aurelia Georgiou (alumna) on the piano.
