Born in Upper Franconia, he completed his master's degree in theatre and literary studies at the University of Bayreuth.

As an assistant director and resident director at the Nuremberg State Theatre, he worked with Harry Kupfer, Peter Konwitschny, Percy Adlon, Josef Köpplinger, Beverly Blankenship and Laura Scozzi, among others.

Freelance assistant directing work took him to Tokyo (‘Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg’, directed by Bernd Weikl) and the Bayreuth Festival (‘Tannhäuser’, directed by Philippe Arlaud), among other places.

Since 2012, he has directed as a freelance director in Nuremberg, Erfurt, Chemnitz, Krefeld, Mönchengladbach, Munich and Helsinki, among other places.

In addition to works from the classical opera and operetta repertoire (including Die Walküre I and Passionnément in Krefeld, Der Graf von Luxemburg in Chemnitz, Giovanna d'Arco in Heidenheim, Die Fledermaus at the Freies Landestheater Bayern, Cavalleria Rusticana/I Pagliacci in Helsinki, Frau Luna and Brundibar in Nuremberg), numerous world premieres and first performances (including Dunkelrot by Karola Obermüller in Nuremberg and Wurst by Sebastian Schwab in Heidenheim), and opera adaptations and musicals for children (including ‘Senta’ at the Isarphilharmonie Munich, “Armide”, ‘The Barber of Seville’, ‘Eine Woche voller Samstage’).

In 2020, he created the Corona revue Alle maskiert! (All Masked!) for Theater Krefeld and wrote and directed the operetta revue Let's Stop Brexit with music by Gilbert & Sull in 2019 as a topical commissioned work.

Together with composer Benedikt Ofner, he writes his own musical revues, including Bargeflüster (2024 Lauf, Mönchengladbach) and Bahn frei (2026 Lauf).

Since the 2025/2026 winter semester, he has been teaching as a research assistant at the Institute for Music Theatre at the Karlsruhe University of Music.
