Cornelia Wild has been Professor of Music Education at the Karlsruhe University of Music since 2023. From 2014 to 2022, she taught and researched at the University of Augsburg in the Master of Music Education/Concert Pedagogy programme. She studied school music with piano as her main subject (Karlsruhe University of Music), Master's in Music Education/Concert Pedagogy (University of Augsburg) and continued her education in Cultural Management (Hamburg University of Music and Performing Arts). In 2023 she was awarded her doctorate with a transdisciplinary thesis on the atmospheres of new concert formats. Her dissertation was supported by several scholarships and will be published in 2025 under the title „Atmosphäre komponieren. Spüren und Erleben in neuen Konzertformaten“ published by transcript-Verlag Bielefeld. Cornelia Wild is co-author of the Handbuchs Musikvermittlung and a member of the Forum Musikvermittlung an Hochschulen und Universitäten. Her research focuses on new concert and mediation formats, post-digital mediation practices, aspects of participation and involvement as well as the resulting concert aesthetics. Her research and practice are always closely interlinked.

Cornelia Wild has conceived and realised numerous performance and mediation formats in various collaborative contexts that combine artistic practice and conceptual, curatorial, pedagogical and communicative practices. Numerous concepts were developed with students, including in the seminar ErlebnisMusik! The mediation concepts she (co-)developed have been performed in numerous institutions, including ZKM Karlsruhe, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Nationaltheater Weimar, Staatstheater Augsburg, the Live Music Now Foundation, OFF I Oboe Bassoon Festival Kremsmünster (Austria), International Weingartner Musiktage Junger Künstler, Klanggrenzen-Festival Karlsruhe, Mozartfeschtle Augsburg, at numerous public concerts, at schools, kindergartens, educational and health institutions.

From 2022 to 2024, she coordinated the MusikMobil Karlsruhe (The Young ClassX e.V.) and led the associated seminar at the Karlsruhe University of Music. From 2013 to 2017, she organised numerous chamber concerts for children and young people (children's concert series Poldis Kleine Konzerte), reaching more than 5,000 young listeners. Cornelia Wild was also co-founder and managing director of the Concertina agency. Cornelia Wild has been a member of the University Council of the Karlsruhe University of Music since 2024.
