Assunta Piro-Krauth was born in the Neapolitan province of Cercola. After graduating from the European School in Karlsruhe, her interest in languages and cultures led her to study German as a foreign language philology, linguistics, literature and education. After graduating from the University of Heidelberg, she has dedicated her life to teaching linguistics in various aspects. After starting as a lecturer for German as a foreign language, she has been successfully teaching Italian at various levels and carrying out translation activities for almost 20 years.
As a thoroughbred Italian, she particularly loves the musicality of the Italian language translated in the masterpieces of music. Since 2004 she has been a lecturer for Italian language at the University of Music Karlsruhe. Her activities at the university are not only concerned with teaching the language, but she also accompanies students on their discovery of "Italianità " in music and especially in the language of opera.
Her participation as a language coach in various opera productions, including "Le nozze di Figaro", "La Bohème", "L' incoronazione di Poppea" and linguistic assistance in recitative training and master classes play a significant role in her pedagogical commitment.
