Professional concert production: Music journalism students at the 2026 Schwetzingen Festival
Students on the second-year Bachelor’s degree programme in Music Journalism at the Karlsruhe University of Music recorded the concert ‘Olivenbaum’ with Lionel Martin and the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra on 17 May 2026 as part of the 2026 Schwetzingen Festival, in cooperation with SWR, during the summer semester of 2026.
The elaborate multi-camera production took place in the historic Rococo Theatre at Schwetzingen Palace and was supervised and directed by Prof. Maximilian Richter as part of the ‘Concert Recording’ seminar.
The resulting video productions have since been published in the ARD media library. This offers an impressive insight into the professional practical work of the students on the Music Journalism programme.
