Competitions
Many competitions, which attract much public attention from outside of the university, serve to compare performances and professionalize students. The following competitions are currently being held:
- Wolfgang Meyer Award sponsored by the Lions Club Karlsruhe
international competition for clarinetists. Information on the competition in September 2024 →
- Dr. Hermann Büttner Piano Competition of the Adler Büttner Foundation
Focus: piano, occasionally in combination with other instruments/ ensemble
- Heinz Kunle Competition of the Friends of the University of Music Karlsruhe
Focus: alternating genres
- Kulturfonds Baden competitions
Focus: performing works by Wolfgang Rihm, chamber music, individual instruments
- Competition for School Musicians
Focus: programs developed by students of School Music
- DAAD Competition
The DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) organizes a competition for foreign students.
Focus: The subject changes every year
