Yiyang Sun, who has just completed her master’s degree in Prof. Sontraud Speidel’s piano class, achieved a perfect score of 100/100 points at the Regina Experia International Music Competition in the Soloists category, Group C, Piano: 1° Premio Assoluto (Absolute First Prize) and the special “Città di Cernobbio Prize” (best soloist in categories A–C), along with €800 in prize money and an invitation to the winners’ concert.
She also won first prize in the Advanced Performer II category (born in 1999 & 2000) at The International Schubert Competition Vienna 2026.
Yiyang Sun is from Wuxi, China. She studied piano at the Karlsruhe University of Music under Prof. Sontraud Speidel, completing her Master’s degree there in 2026. In recent years, she has been recognised at several international piano competitions. As a pianist, she performs both as a soloist and with orchestras, and gives regular concerts both in Germany and abroad. Her concert engagements have taken her throughout Europe, China and the USA.
