The musical and educational exchange of the Karlsruhe University of Music extends as far as Brazil.
From 11 to 15 September, the first German-Brazilian music festival EMBAP will take place in Curitiba, the capital of the state of Paraná in south-eastern Brazil. As part of the festival, a summer school will be offered in cooperation between the Escola de Música e Belas-Artes do Paraná (music college), UNESPAR (university) and the Karlsruhe University of Music.
About 850 kilometres to the north, in Rio de Janeiro, the summer school in cooperation with the Escola de Música de UFRJ has been running since 1 September. This is the 16th time that this cooperation between the two universities has taken place.
Prof. Will Sandes, Prof. Holger Speck, Prof. Dr. Damon Lee, Matteo Pirola, Prof. Roberto Domingos and Prof. Christel Lee travelled to Brazil for this purpose. In seminars and musical projects, they work with the students on subject-specific topics, make music together and thus strengthen the Brazilian-German friendship in a lasting way.
