At the end of the winter semester, a master class with Sebastian Weigle took place in Karlsruhe, made possible by the Dr. Ilse Völter Foundation Fund.
Working with him represents significant artistic added value for young singers. The internationally experienced conductor is known for his distinctly singer-oriented approach: He responds sensitively to the musical impulses of the soloists, shapes the music flexibly from the breath and thus creates optimal conditions for vocal development and interpretative freedom. This approach provides young artists with lasting support in their professional development.
Weigle's many years of experience at leading international opera houses – including the Bayreuth Festival, the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Vienna State Opera – guarantee work of the highest artistic standard. His extensive experience – including many years as principal horn player – flows directly into the musical rehearsal process and provides young singers with valuable guidance in terms of stylistic requirements, understanding roles and professional working processes.
The students at the University of Music are grateful that the support of the Dr. Ilse Völter Foundation Fund enables them to participate in masterclasses with renowned artists such as Sebastian Weigl.
