The HfM Karlsruhe is represented on several occasions in the ‘Wahnfried Tetralogy’, which is being performed exclusively to mark the 150th anniversary of the Bayreuth Festival and comprises a total of four concerts in the hall of Richard Wagner’s Villa Wahnfried. The first concert on 29 July 2026 will be presented by students from Prof. Alexander Fleischer’s art song class and will be dedicated to Jewish composers from Wagner’s circle.
In the second concert on 31 July 2026, Prof. Christiane Libor and Prof. Hanno Müller-Brachmann will sing art songs by Alban Berg and Ferruccio Busoni. The ‘Wahnfried Tetralogy’ offers programmes that draw on both the proximity to and distance from Richard Wagner, shedding light on the engagement with his music over the 150 years since the founding of the Bayreuth Festival. The series is conceived and directed by Prof. Dr Stephan Mösch and Prof. Günther Albers (HfMDK Frankfurt am Main).
