The four-part film ‘Wagner: The Good, the Bad, the Ego’ is now available to watch on the ARD media library. It was produced by Prof. Michael Wende. The documentary filmmaker, author and motion designer is a professor of applied multimedia moving-image projects at the Institute of Music Journalism (IMJ).

The film is based, amongst other things, on material created by students at the Karlsruhe University of Music (Music Journalism course) as part of RIWA 26. It was commissioned by Bayerischer Rundfunk and Südwestrundfunk. The four episodes feature, amongst other things, interviews with leading figures in Wagner interpretation, such as the soprano Camilla Nylund, the bass Georg Zeppenfeld, the conductors Simone Young and Pablo Heras-Casado, the stage directors Stefan Herheim and Tobias Kratzer, and the musicologists Prof. Dr Eva Rieger, Prof. Dr Ulrich Konrad and Prof. Dr Stephan Mösch.
