Restrictions on IT Services at the Karlsruhe University of Music
The Karlsruhe University of Music (HfM Karlsruhe) has been affected by a cyberattack on the Baden-Württemberg Higher Education Service Center (HSZ-BW), which provides central IT services to the state’s non-university higher education institutions.
As a precautionary security measure, connections between the HSZ-BW and the affiliated institutions were immediately severed. As a result, certain IT systems and administrative services at the Karlsruhe University of Music are currently unavailable. This particularly affects applications in the areas of student administration, as well as financial and human resources management.
Important information regarding the application process for the entrance exam for the 2027 summer semester: Due to the cyberattack on the Higher Education Service Center, the application process for the entrance exam for the 2027 summer semester has been modified. Please send all required application documents via email to bewerbung@hfm.eu and also take note of all additional instructions regarding the modified application process.
University operations continue as usual. The security of IT systems and the protection of sensitive data are top priorities for the HfM Karlsruhe.
We ask students, employees, and our partners for their understanding regarding the current restrictions. Further information will be published as soon as it becomes available.
