The Chair of Role and Ensemble Studies was also filled for the 2026 summer term.
We are delighted that Matteo Pirola, who has already served as a lecturer in opera coaching at the Institute of Musical Theatre in recent years, a renowned artist, has accepted the appointment to the chair.
Born in Erba, he studied at the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Como and received formative inspiration from masterclasses with pianists and conductors such as Aldo Ciccolini and Richard Bonynge. As a répétiteur, he has worked at major opera houses across Europe, including in Nuremberg, Klagenfurt and Mannheim, and remains in high demand internationally in this role.
