Ars legendi Prize 2025 goes to Elisabeth Theisohn

Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Theisohn has been awarded the Ars legendi Prize 2025. The prize, awarded by the Stifterverband, is given this year for excellence in university teaching on the subject of democracy education and is endowed with 30,000 euros.

In its decision, the jury of students and experts from various disciplines particularly praised the fact that “through her diverse activities, Elisabeth Theisohn exemplifies the ideal of a democratic university culture and convincingly highlights the special potential of music for democratic education.”

Elisabeth Theisohn has been head of the Artistic Teaching at Secondary Schools program at the Karlsruhe University of Music since 2023. In addition to practice-oriented and didactically guided teaching research, she is particularly interested in innovative and agile music education teaching.
