2 winners of the trumpet class at the ARD competition

At the ARD International Music Competition in the trumpet category, Prof. Reinhold Friedrich's class at the Karlsruhe University of Music can celebrate winning the top two prizes. First prize went to Robin Paillet. He studied in the class of Marx Geuion and Alexis Demailly at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in 2020 and continued his studies as an exchange student with Prof. Reinhold Friedrich at the Karlsruhe University of Music in 2023. Second prize went to German trumpeter Sandro Hirsch. He was born in 1997 in the Southern Palatinate. He studied with Prof. Reinhold Friedrich in the bachelor's programme and will complete his master's degree with him at the end of September. Since the beginning of 2024, he has been principal trumpeter of the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn, having previously held the same position with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra and guest engagements with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, among others.
