Baofeng Liang was born on October 24, 1995 in Benxi in the province of Liao Ning, a small town in northern China. He was nine years old when he started playing the piano. From 2009 to 2015, he studied piano with Wei Sun at the middle school of Sheng Yang College of Music. He performed in public for the first time at the age of 14 with great success. In 2013, the 17-year-old won 1st prize at the 3rd Asia Youth Piano Competition. In the same year, he was awarded 2nd prize in the final of the "Asia Pacific" International Piano Competition in Macao. He came to Germany in 2015 and initially studied at the Precollege with Entkö Török in Würzburg. In 2016, he began his studies at the Karlsruhe University of Music in the piano class of Prof. Markus Stange, first in the Bachelor's program, which he completed with distinction, then since 2020 in the Master's program, where
he has devoted himself intensively to studying and building up an extensive repertoire of major virtuoso piano works. Baofeng Liang has given numerous solo concerts and is a sought-after chamber music partner. In the Beethoven Year 2020, he successfully performed improvisations of variations on the famous Diabelli theme. From 2020 to 2021, he took on the difficult orchestral parts of Wolfgang Rihm's “Triptych”, Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 and Bartók's “The Miraculous Mandarin” in a concert by the university orchestra. In April 2023, he will now continue his studies in the soloist exam.
