about this event
The musical climate encoder – what's that all about, you may ask.
It's really quite obvious how many composers have been thinking about our earth, nature and the climate in recent years, decades and even centuries.
You can expect a programme of compositions from more recent times with themes such as trees, whales, birds, water and fire.
There are also compositions from earlier times with natural phenomena in the title.
What is completely new in this project, however, is the scientific lecture by Prof Dr Heiner Igel, LMU Munich, on the music of Steve Reich, seismology and climate change, which is embedded in the music.
You can look forward to a listening experience expanded to include the science of the earth with a highly interdisciplinary musical approach.
