Our presenters:
Leonard Stern and Clara Schwarz will host the programme.
Report ”Das wird man ja noch sagen dürfen?! "You're still allowed to say that?!
- How attitude sets the tone"
For her first report, Clara Schwarz visited media professionals throughout Germany and asked them about their work. How much attitude can and should be shown? And how can the balancing act between objectivity and opinion be achieved - especially in the area of tension between legal requirements and journalistic due diligence?
"Music journalism with a responsibility" - an essay
In a subsequent essay, Leonard Ritschel presents a classic opinion piece on the subject of responsibility. He sheds light on how editorial offices can justify decisions when ethical and moral concerns arise. Who bears responsibility if a publicly accessible music review contains sexist or racist content? And what happens if no one takes responsibility? Food for thought for us music journalists.
Poll: What does the public actually think?
A survey will be launched on our Instagram Account on 20 January. Our social media editor Madleen Kutterer wants to find out what consumers think about the topic. The results will be analysed in our live show.
Talk round "Polarisation and personality - attitude as brand essence?"
The algorithms of large social media platforms favour clear, polarising statements - they guarantee the most attention. But does that mean that we as music journalists have to go along with this in order to
remain visible? Do we have to get involved in political discourse in order to be heard? Can we afford not to take a stance? And how does the way YouTube and social media formats work influence the development of new formats in public media organisations?
We discuss this with freelance cultural journalist Aida Baghernejad, Audiotainment Südwest music director David Banks and SWR format developer Manuel Dörflinger.
