Harmony is one of the most fascinating aspects of music. For a long time, it was described primarily using functional and scale-based theories. For some time now, however, other methods of harmonic analysis have also been discovered. Some of these methods can be traced back to texts from the 18th and 19th centuries, whilst others emerged in the 20th century. Some of these methods will be presented in the lecture using music from various eras.
