BIOGRAPHY

Yibao Chen began her vocal training at the Central Conservatory of Music in China with Dengying Zhao and later studied at the Accademia Santa Cecilia in Rome with Anna Maria Ferrante. After receiving her Master's degree, she was engaged by the China National Opera House, where she sang Contessa (Le Nozze di Figaro), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Musetta (La Bohème), Liu (Turandot) and Cio Cio San (Madama Butterfly), among others. Concerts have taken her to Hong Kong, Austria, Lithuania, Hungary and Switzerland. She is a prize winner of several international competitions and supplemented her training in master classes with Marilyn Horne, Anne Sofie von Otter, Janet Perry, Daniel Fueter, Dorothea Röschmann, Hartmut Höll and Mitsuko Shirai. Since the beginning of 2020, Yibao Chen has been studying in the soloist exam course at the Karlsruhe University of Music with Prof. Christian Elsner and was awarded 1st prize at the 2021 International Brahms Competition in Pörtschach.
