*The title ‘Im Schwung des Pinsels’ (In the Swing of the Brush) is a translation of the Chinese word 揮毫. The word refers to calligraphic writing with a brush in the East Asian tradition and alludes to the creative, gestural act of writing. In East Asian culture, handwriting is considered a reflection of a person's inner state. This work is also my inner writing with a brush. (Yangkai Lin)
