Christoph Prégardien

It is his clear and precise voice leading as well as his intelligent interpretation and diction, coupled with the ability to get into the psychological core of a role, that make Christoph Prégardien one of the most important lyrical tenors of our time. His work as a lied singer is particularly appreciated internationally. He has performed with all the leading orchestras of Europe and the world, including the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonic Orchestras. His orchestral repertoire includes the great oratorios and passions from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods as well as works from the 17th and 20th centuries. His opera parts include Tamino, Almaviva, Fenton, Don Ottavio, Titus, Idomeneo and Monteverdi's Ulisse.
In addition to his concert activity, he teaches young singers in master classes worldwide. Until 2004 he was a lecturer at the Hochschule Musik und Theater Zürich; since then he has been a professor at the Musikhochschule Köln.
