Dr. med. Petra Vöhringer

Dr Petra Vöhringer, specialist in general medicine and occupational medicine

After studying medicine, gaining her licence to practise medicine and completing her doctorate in ear, nose and throat medicine at Heidelberg University Hospital, she completed her further training as a specialist in general medicine in the fields of internal medicine, surgery (with a focus on hand surgery), ear, nose and throat medicine and general medicine in Mannheim, Pforzheim and Karlsruhe. As part of her work in occupational medicine, she advises companies on the prevention of occupational illnesses and regularly deals with complex ergonomic issues and the influence of environmental factors at workplaces.

She is a member of the German Society for Music Physiology and Musicians' Medicine and the VDBW's Stage and Orchestra Working Group and has completed the PAMA's certified training programme "Essentials of Performing Arts Medicine". As part of her work as a company doctor, she looks after cultural organisations, music schools, festivals and orchestras.

She has been working in outpatient general medical care and at the occupational health centre at Kronenplatz since 2010 and has been running a musician's medical consultation for several years.

In addition to diagnosing and treating musician-specific complaints, a second focus is on prevention as the basis for a healthy professional life for musicians.
