In a few days, the Institute of Music Journalism will go online with its live show on artificial intelligence in music journalism. For one hour, the students will show where the media industry currently stands and where the journey is heading.

K.I. as co-host
What should not be missing in a programme about K.I.? The A.I. herself, of course. To this end, the students have worked with ChatGPT to create a co-host who will support our two human presenters Hanna Leichtle and Johannes Heuft in the show. You can see how "KIM" came about in a documentary feature in the programme.

Status check: Radio editorial offices
In another article, Tabea Spengler and Johannes Heuft carry out a status check: To what extent is K.I. already being used in radio newsrooms? To find out, they visited various broadcasters and asked those responsible and editors about their concepts and work processes.

The creative A.I.?
In the live talk "A.I. in the music business", Katharina Meding discusses with experts Toni Berardi (songwriter and producer), Paul Bießmann (musician and media artist) and Prof Dr Claudia Paganini (media ethicist, Munich School of Philosophy) the developments that artificial intelligence is driving in music production and the extent to which it influences musical creativity and originality.

A.I. and music criticism
In a second panel discussion, Laura Schiffler discusses the influence of A.I. on music criticism. What changes in the evaluation when the music is A.I.-generated instead of composed by humans? And what happens when A.I. can write the music criticism itself? Guests in the studio are Theo Geißler (author and editor of "nmz - neue musikzeitung") and Hannah Schmidt (freelance music journalist, e.g. Zeit, VAN, SWR2).

A look into the future
In a concluding contribution, a satirical outlook is given: What might our dealings with A.I. look like in future (working) life? A dystopian fantasy of the future with a wink.
