It's a privilege to study here

The Karlsruhe University of Music is one of the most progressive music academies in Germany. It combines classical with modern, tradition with innovation and is characterized by future-oriented thinking and the examination of the great European musical tradition. Students from over 60 nations study and work together on a campus that is one of the most beautiful in Europe.

The artistic output is first-class: Many of the graduates give concerts on the most important national and international stages as instrumental soloists, singers or chamber musicians, work in their home countries as musicologists, teachers or journalists. In addition to the traditional music education, students also benefit from the opportunity to get to know music-related, modern media and technologies, either in connection with artificial intelligence, sonic arts or 3D-MotionCapture. The Landeszentrum für Musikjournalismus und Musikinformatik teaches and conducts research on these topics and also deals with cognitive processes in the perception of music.

The University of Music is not only a centre of academic education. As one of the leading concert organizers in Karlsruhe and the surrounding area, more than 400 events are held here every year. With these and numerous other educational offers and initiatives, the Karlsruhe University of Music is firmly anchored in the city and the region.

Through numerous international partnerships, the university maintains links with partner institutions across Europe and the world. These include conservatoires, universities and music academies in almost every European country, as well as UniRio, UFRJ in Rio de Janeiro, the University of Namibia, and Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo.
