The HfM Karlsruhe is represented on several occasions in the ‘Wahnfried Tetralogy’, which is being performed exclusively to mark the 150th anniversary of the Bayreuth Festival and comprises a total of four concerts in the hall of Richard Wagner’s Villa Wahnfried. The four-part film ‘Wagner: The Good, the Bad, the Ego’ is now available to watch on the ARD media library. It was produced by Prof. Michael Wende. The documentary filmmaker, author and motion designer is a professor of applied multimedia moving-image projects at the Institute of Music Journalism (IMJ).The film is based, amongst other things, on material created by students at the Karlsruhe University of Music (Music Journalism course) as part of RIWA 26. As part of the RIWA project, the book „Bayreuth as Theatre: Towards a History of the Festival“ by Prof. Dr. phil. habil. Stephan Mösch has been published by Bärenreiter/Metzler. Stephan Mösch teaches aesthetics, history and artistic practice in musical theatre at the IMT (Institute for Musical Theatre). Jeremias Burk, a Master’s student in Prof. Tatjana Vassiljewa-Monnier’s cello class, will become a permanent member of the Ulm Philharmonic Orchestra from September 2026.Jeremias Burk was born in Bad Tölz in 1999 and received his first music lessons on the piano at the age of six. At the age of seven, he began playing the cello and was taught by Martina Trost-Gelse. Two prizes at the Carl Flesch Academy Lara Eberitzsch, a pre-college student studying violin with Prof. Laurent Albrecht Breuninger, has won the Werner Stiefel Prize.
