Successes of the music theatre directing degree programme

Cora Hannen (BA degree 2025) will start a permanent engagement at the Cologne Opera at the beginning of the 2025/26 season. She will work there as an assistant director and evening director and will already have her own production in the first season. Haitham Tantawy (MA degree 2024) has a permanent engagement at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. His first own production has just been staged there: ‘The Lighthouse’ by Peter Maxwell Davies. The enthusiastic reviews include the following: ‘This 75-minute Gesamtkunstwerk is extraordinary, courageous, dark as well as fitting to the theme, in short successful.’ Following her productions at Staatstheater Wiesbaden (including ‘Turandot’, ‘Babylon’, ‘Rusalka’), Daniela Kerck (MA degree 2017) has now been celebrated for ‘Strandrecht’ (‘The Wreckers’) by Ethel Smith at Staatstheater Schwerin. In May 2025, she will stage Schumann's ‘Paradise and the Peri’ in Paris (La Seine Musicale).
