Junges Kollektiv MusikTheater has won an award! It was nominated for the award by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Culture.
The JKMT was founded in 2018 by students at the Karlsruhe University of Music as a non-profit organisation. They work collectively to develop music theatre projects and open up unusual theatrical venues. In doing so, the members artistically search for new ways to make established works that are tainted by traditional patterns experienceable in a new way. The JKMT programme includes an annual summer opera, a music theatre festival in 2022 and projects in the field of free concert and educational formats.
Every year, the International Lake Constance Conference awards up to seven sponsorship prizes to artists from the Lake Constance region. Each year, a different genre in the field of culture is supported. This year it was "New music theatre in the independent scene".
[...] With clarity and consistency, young, passionate musicians are committed to music theatre in the here and now, at eye level with the audience and in tune with the times. Without curtain, plush and fourth wall. - Excerpt from the laudatory speech by Jens Lampater
