The Institute of Music Journalism has been nominated for the prestigious LFK Media Prize in the ‘Podcasts@BW’ category.  In their project ’12,41 € - Eine Stunde Lebenszeit. Der Mindestlohnpodcast’, the students tackled a topical issue: What does the minimum wage mean for real life? And how much is an hour of life worth? In interviews with experts and self-experiments, they also investigated which wishes and everyday needs can be fulfilled with €12.41.

The LFK Media Prize is the most important award for private and non-commercial broadcasting in Baden-Württemberg and is presented by the Landesanstalt für Kommunikation Baden-Württemberg (LFK). Every year, the expert jury honours creative, innovative and journalistically outstanding media productions. The nomination recognises the outstanding work of the students, who have presented the topic in a high-quality editorial manner with great commitment.

The Institute for Music Journalism has been one of the leading training centres for journalists in Germany since 1995. Here, students learn to report for radio, TV and online platforms - with a practical orientation and state-of-the-art technology. With its own radio studios, a TV studio and an FM frequency, the programme provides them with the best conditions for developing their journalistic skills.

We are proud of our students and look forward to the award ceremony on 12 May 2025 at the SI-Centrum Stuttgart.
