"Hear Her!" Works for trumpet by female composers.
In the music world, we are experiencing a cultural shift that aims to involve women more in areas where they were previously virtually invisible and unheard. We see conductors leading the world's best orchestras, we hear compositions by female composers in orchestral concerts, and we see young female trumpet soloists on the biggest stages. There is still a long way to go before we see true equality in practice, but there is often an interest and openness to it that is encouraging and will certainly continue to grow from now on. It is against the backdrop of this cultural shift that the Hear Her Project has developed. The trumpet has always been a male-dominated instrument. However, if you look closely, you will find inspiring female trumpet players throughout history. Composition was also a male-dominated profession for a long time. One might think, looking at both together, that there are not many works written for trumpet by female composers. But if you look closely, you will find not just a few, but many absolutely fantastic works for trumpet written by female composers around the world.
