Chamber orchestra and percussion ensemble of the Orchestra Academy Musicarium Joinville (Brazil)

The non-profit association Musicarium runs a renowned training centre for talented young people in the Brazilian city of Joinville. It promotes excellent humanistic music education and combines this cultural work with social commitment. Founded in 2017 as a project of the Core Excellence Centre, Musicarium aims to build a professional philharmonic orchestra. In the first selection process, 700 applicants applied for 100 places, 85% of whom came from state schools. After three years, a children's orchestra was founded and the institution was recognised as the Brazilian Philharmonic Academy. Since then, the institute has been changing people's lives through music, promoting culture and excellent educational opportunities on its way to achieving international recognition.
The European guest performance by the Musicarium's ensembles will be accompanied by an exhibition of musical instruments built by the students themselves as part of their training.

The concert will be complemented by the presentation of the Orchester des Wandels e. V. association, which is made up of musicians from renowned orchestras and music academies from all over Germany. The members see the protection of the climate, nature and species as part of their cultural mission and are involved in numerous projects, including the protection of the pernambuco tree in Brazil, whose wood is used to make high-quality string bows.
