Biography
Moe Fukuda is a percussionist specializing in contemporary music. While still a student, she worked closely with young composers and was involved in the creation of new works. She is particularly interested in exploring the sonic possibilities of a wide variety of materials—from wood, metal, and animal skin to plants and everyday objects—and combining them with electronic music to create new and unusual soundscapes.
As a percussionist, she has participated in numerous European festivals for contemporary music, including Warsaw Autumn (Poland), MITO SettembreMusica (Italy), the Kaivos Festival
(Finland), and the Darmstadt Summer Courses.
She completed her bachelor's and master's degrees at the Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo and then continued her education as a DAAD scholarship holder in the master's program in contemporary music at the Karlsruhe University of Music. She currently works as a freelance percussionist and performs in chamber music, orchestra, and solo projects. She also teaches percussion instruments at the municipal school of music in Bühl.
