At the next "Great Piano Night of the Friends" on 15 November 2024, 7 pm, at Karlsruhe Palace, young award-winning pianists from the Karlsruhe University of Music, all from the class of Prof. Sontraud Speidel, will span a wide range from the Baroque to the modern era, even into the immediate present. The works will be presented on the Steinway grand piano in the garden hall of the palace, which the "Friends of the Baden State Museum" purchased for the museum in 2015. We will hear popular works by Bach, Mozart and Beethoven, Schumann and Chopin, and even - as a world premiere - an improvisation "Bach meets jazz". Even the most difficult pieces, the "Mephisto Waltz" by Liszt and "Islamey" by Balakirev, are presented with verve and enthusiasm! The concert concludes with a Galop Marche by Lavignac for piano eight hands.
After the concert, the "Friends of the Baden State Museum" offer something very special: there will be delicious cocktails with and without alcohol at the cocktail bar (the first cocktail is included in the admission price).
