Along with John Cage, Nam June Paik and Joseph Beuys, Mary Bauermeister (1934-2023) was one of the leading representatives of the so-called Fluxus movement, an avant-garde art movement of the 1960s. The film author and director Carmen Belaschk, who studied music journalism for broadcasting and multimedia at the Karlsruhe University of Music from 2009 to 2012, was able to visit the 85-year-old in her studio in 2021, where she looked back on an eventful life together with her children.
