Violin · Chamber music · Historical performance practice

Ilia Korol comes from Kiev, studied at the Moscow Conservatory with Abraham Stern, Gelya Dubrova and Marina Iashvili and has lived in Austria since 1997. He played with Musica Antiqua Köln, is concertmaster of the Orchestra Wiener Akademie, of Musica Angelica L.A. (USA), of the Bach Ensemble Joshua Rifkin, of the Spanish Baroque Orchestra RCOC and is also a member of the Ensemble Ars Antiqua Austria and the Clemencic Consort. In 2006 he was "guest leader" of Musica Antiqua Köln on a tour of the USA, which took him to Carnegie Hall New York, Disney Hall Los Angeles, Berkeley, Santa Barbara and Santa Monica, among others. In 2003 he founded the chamber orchestra "moderntimes_1800" together with Julia Moretti, which he conducted at the RuhrTriennale 2005 and 2006 and at the Salzburg Festival 2006, among others. Since then he has performed with the orchestra at numerous festivals and concert stages in Germany and abroad with great success.
