Competitions
Several competitions, which also attract much public attention to the university, serve to compare performances and professionalize the students. The following competitions are currently being held:
- Wolfgang Meyer Award sponsored by the Lions Club Karlsruhe
international competition for clarinetists. Next date September 2024 → - Dr. Hermann Büttner Piano Competition of the Adler Büttner Foundation
Focus: piano, occasionally in combination with other instruments/ensemble playing. → - Heinz Kunle Competition of the Friends of the University of Music Karlsruhe
Focus: rotating themes - Competitions of the Culture Fund Baden
Focus: interpretation of Wolfgang Rihm's works, chamber music, individual instruments. - Competition for School Musicians
Focus: programs developed by students of school music.
