As part of the Gaia installation in the Protestant town church, students from the Karlsruhe University of Music have performed a total of 12 concerts.
For this purpose, the series of concerts in the Kleine Kirche Reihe (lunchtime concerts on Fridays at 12.15 pm) was significantly extended in September at the request of church music director Christian-Markus Raiser. They were organised by the university's orchestra office.

Wolfgang Rihm (1952–2024)
Prof. Dr. h. c. Wolfgang Rihm passed away in Ettlingen on the night of 27 July. He was 72 years old. To all those who were close to him personally or professionally, we offer our silent condolences, still in the grip of the sad news.

School music competition 2024 decided
On Sunday, 7 July 2024, the School Music Competition was decided. The participants in the competition, which has been held at the Karlsruhe University of Music for more than 20 years, presented a variety of solo and ensemble programmes, each lasting three quarters of an hour. From 1992 to 1998, Professor Péter Eötvös was director of the Ensemble for 20th Century Music and the Institute for New Music at the Karlsruhe University of Music. Between 2002 and 2008, he held a teaching position for conducting.
