Roderik de Man (Bandung/Indonesië 1941) studied percussion with Frans van der Kraan and Theory of Music at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. At the same time he participated in the composition class of Kees van Baaren and worked in the electronic studio supervised by Dick Raaymakers. He received many commissions from a.o. the Performing Arts Fund NL and writes instrumental works as well as works for instruments combined with electronics. His oeuvre consists of solo works, chamber, orchestral, ensemble and choral music. Many of his works are available on cd.​

Several times his music was selected by the international jury of the International Society for Contemporary Music, to be performed during the World Music Days (Oslo 1991, Mexico 1993, Seoul 1997, Boekarest 1998, Zwitserland 2004). “Music, when soft voices die...”, commissioned by the Institut International de Musique Electroacoustique de Bourges, was awarded the first prize in the Musica Nova, Pague competition. In 2005 “Cordes Invisibles” for violoncello, piano en tape(cd) was awarded first Prize during the Concours International de Musique Electroacoustique de Bourges, the same work also received a Golden Euphony in 2010. Chromophores for ensemble and electronics was performed during the World Music Days in Hong Kong and was awarded a honorable mention by Ars Electronica 2007. Marionette and Hear, hear! were nominated by the Toonzetters in 2008 and 2009.

​Roderik de Man 's music was performed and broadcasted in a.o.Europe, the United States, Canada, Russia, Brazil, Mexico, Venezuela, Indonesia, Korea and Japan.
