Inspired by her hometown Edinburgh, Scotland, Robyn Blair loves to lose herself in sounds and stories with her horn music. She was artist-in-residence at the City of Munich from July to September 2022, improvising and playing music written for her by John Kenny and Etienne Rolin in the Gasteig HP8 Halle, among others. In September 2023, she performed an improvised horn concerto with Etienne Rolin in Bordeaux, which was also recorded. Robyn Blair was a founder member of the multi-award winning ensemble Connaught Brass, which has performed in London at Wigmore Hall, St Martin-in-the-Fields, St John's Smith Square, King's Place, as well as touring in Switzerland (including the Lucerne Festival), France and the Netherlands, and on radio with a live broadcast from the Mirror Room of the Amsterdam Concertgebouw. She was also a member of the Lucerne Festival Academy. She has performed with the London Sinfonietta and the London Chamber Orchestra, East London Music Group, Luminaire Orchestra and Orchestra for the Earth. In musical theatre, Robyn Blair has performed in ‘My Fair Lady’ in Edinburgh, Southampton and Bristol and in ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ in Edinburgh and Milton Keynes. In addition to her concert activities, she has taught at the Junior Royal Academy of Music in London, presented workshops for children with special educational needs through The Musician's Company and was guest horn coach for the National Youth French Horn Ensemble Great Britain. Outside of music, Robyn Blair is excited to be living in Frankfurt, buying a traditional Dutch bike with multiple locks and trying her hand at the local bouldering routes.
