Eva-Maria Rieckert was admitted to the preparatory class for the University of Music Karlsruhe before she graduated from high school, later earning diplomas with honors in music teaching, artistic education, and concert exams. She studied piano with Fany Solter, Werner Genuit, Lev Vlassenko at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, and Dinorah Varsi. Between 1987 and 1994, she is won several international competitions, including the European Music Competition in Brussels; Concours International de Piano Claude Kahn in Paris; Concorso Internazionale di Musica Città di Stresa in Italy; International Maria Canals Piano Competition Barcelona; ​​ Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Conservatory Competition; and the Federal President's Prize, Germany.

After several years of concert appearances in several countries and some CD recordings, she focused increasingly on teaching. Starting in 1992, she was a lecturer for piano and piano methodology at the Freiburg Conservatory of Music and since 1994, as lecturer for piano and piano methodology at the University of Music Karlsruhe. In 2009, her book Piano Technique for Young People (Klaviertechnik für Jugendliche) was published by Edition 49 music publishers.

In 2015, she completed doctoral studies in the field of music education.
