Portrait Wally Hase

Wally Hase was born in Freiburg and studied with Karl Friedrich Mess in Stuttgart from 1986 onwards, as well as with Jean-Claude Gérard and Aurèle Nicolet. As a member of the Ludwigsburg Festival Orchestra she toured China, Japan and South America. Between 1990 and 1993 she was a member of the Karlsruhe Ensemble 13 and of the Bach Collegium Stuttgart under the direction of Helmuth Rilling. Already during her studies she became principal flutist of the Staatskapelle Weimar at the age of 22 (until 2009). Since 2008 she has been working regularly with the Camerata Salzburg. As a solo flutist she works with many well-known orchestras, but is also a committed chamber musician. In 2000 Wally Hase was appointed professor for flute at the "Franz Liszt" Academy of Music in Weimar. From 2014 to 2018 she also held a guest professorship at the University of Music in Cracow. Since October 2018 she is professor for flute at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
