The Young ClassX - Musikmobil
The unifying power of music not only serves to develop the personality, but also promotes social commitment and a sense of community. Based on this conviction, The Young ClassX was founded in Hamburg in 2008. The non-profit association introduces children and young people to music in a unique and playful way across genres, in order to emotionally bind them to music at an early age and encourage them to actively make music themselves.
The Karlsruhe University of Music has been in cooperation with The Young ClassX since 2015 and is participating in the "Musikmobil" project together with other cooperation partners. This project offers a very special way of teaching music: a bus picks up pupils from grades 1 to 13 from their schools and takes them to concerts, rehearsals and special musical learning opportunities, including at the Karlsruhe University of Music. Through rehearsal visits at the Baden State Theatre in Karlsruhe, discussions with musicians and conductors, workshops at the Centre for Art and Media Technology (ZKM) Karlsruhe and many other offers, the children and young people are often given a first contact with classical music.
The trips are free of charge for the participating school classes and are organized by The Young ClassX Project Coordination, which is based at the Karlsruhe University of Music. Each ride is supervised by a prospective music educator from the university, a so-called pilot*. He or she prepares the fellow travellers professionally, individually and diversely for the event to be visited. An organisational and educational all-round offer for all those who want to give children and young people extraordinary musical experiences and direct experience of music!
